Just as haunting is the soundtrack accompanying your journey. The level of detail in the environments and the emotion you feel from the characters themselves helps truly sell the emotional tale being told here. Sure, we’ve seen the pixelated look in video games many times over at this point, but none deliver quite such an unsettling and moody atmosphere quite like INMOST does. Nearly a week later and I’m still running through the events of what happened in INMOST through my head.įrom a visual and audio standpoint, INMOST excels. All I’ll say is playing through this four-or-so hour adventure had me feeling everything from scared and anxious to shocked and upset, an impressive accomplishment from any game let alone one whose story is told in a simplistic pixelated fashion. You uncover a dark and interconnected tale of three playable. I want to tread carefully here as to reveal much (or really any) of the story would be to lessen its impact. Inmost is a running and jumping game with a strong emotional and atmospheric narrative. INMOST weaves a rather tragic tale through its three playable characters taking on some heavy subject matter that by the time I’d reached its end credits left me awash with a range of thoughts and emotions. While I never found myself dreading playing these characters, I definitely found myself more excited to return to the man. The moments with the girl, for example, I found to be a little too slow-moving for my liking while the knight despite having the more action-oriented sections, felt a little simplistic, especially when it came to combat. Rather, their gameplay didn’t reel me in as successfully as the man. That isn’t to say the young girl and knight’s sections are dull in any way. Fortunately, save points are pretty generous that I frustration only truly reared its ugly head when I found myself stumped on a puzzle as opposed to constantly dying. Between the evil monsters, the hazardous world itself and some element of trial and error, you’ll find yourself dying a fair amount. It’s a longer and more complicated way to go about it, but at the same time far more rewarding than simply swinging a sword. Armed with only your brain, defeating enemies comes down to using the environment and luring them into traps. Enemies are a constant threat since they are essentially one-hit kills some even chasing you through the environment. It’s metaphorical (even if the in-game fantasy universe can be explicit at times).

The current timestamp and the current time are to deliver the values. You can use DATE wherever you just need to keep track of the date and exact time is unnecessary while you can use timestamp where knowing the time is crucial. The current timestamp is used as the default timestamp value of a column in PostgreSQL. ConclusionĭATE and timestamp have one main difference and that is that the DATE gives you only current date while timestamp gives you date in addition to the time ( with the option of time zones as well ). To insert the current time use currenttimestamp as documented in the manual: INSERT into 'Group' (name, createddate) VALUES ('Test', currenttimestamp) To display that value in a different format change the configuration of your SQL client or format the value when SELECTing the data: select name, tochar (createddate, 'yyyymmdd hh:mi:ss tt. The PostgreSQL CURRENTTIMESTAMP() function returns the current date and time with time zone, which is the time when the transaction starts. Both ‘timestamp’ and ‘timestamptz’ have min value of 4713 BC, a max value of 294276 AD, and a resolution of 1 microsecond/ 14 digits. If we talk about storage then both of these timestamp related data types would take 8 bytes each when they will be used. Whenever you need to know ‘timestamptz’ from database, PostgreSQL converts the UTC saved time back to the local time zone and displays it to you. Essentially, ‘timestamptz’ doesn’t give you time in UTC by default but rather PostgreSQL converts it for you and then save it in database. PostgreSQL will never save time directly in exact ‘timetamptz’ mode. The PostgreSQL CurrentTimestamp Function returns, as an output, the current time and date of the session timezone. Whenever you use this data type, PostgreSQL stores the values in table in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) format. The basic difference between both of them is that the former gives you time without time zone while latter gives you time with time zone. now () is a traditional PostgreSQL equivalent to transactiontimestamp (). transactiontimestamp () is equivalent to CURRENTTIMESTAMP, but is named to clearly reflect what it returns. In PostgreSQL, the currenttimestamp () function returns the current date and time, including the time zone offset. PostgreSQL provides two timestamp related datatypes ‘timestamp’ and ‘timestamptz’. These SQL-standard functions all return values based on the start time of the current transaction. The difference between LOCALTIMESTAMP and CURRENT_TIMESTAMP is that the LOCALTIMESTAMP doesn’t include the time zone offset. The default format in both cases would be yyyy-mm-dd and if you want you can change that to any format you like. I dont think Im alone in using it for doing simple benchmarking. extract will interpret such a time stamp in your current time zone (it does not know about the second argument you passed to AT TIME ZONE ). This function returns the time at which the current transaction started. clocktimestamp() is a PostgreSQL function that always returns the current clocks timestamp. The result of AT TIME ZONE, when applied to a timestamp with time zone, is always a timestamp without time zone. This result doesn’t contain fractional seconds because we put 0 as the argument. It uses the YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss.nnnnnnn format, where: YYYY is a 4-digit year. The CURRENTTIMESTAMP() function returns a TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE that represents the date and time at which the transaction started. The default precision is 6, which is also the maximum number of fractional seconds this is what you get if you don’t use brackets at all. The PostgreSQL function LOCALTIMESTAMP returns the current date and time (of the machine running that instance of PostgreSQL) as a timestamp value. one place after the decimal) 2 will return two places, etc. For example, LOCALTIMESTAMP(1) denotes only one fractional second (i.e. This will return the date and time with your desired number of fractional seconds. However, if you want to display the date and time with a specific precision, put an integer from 0 to 6 as an argument in the brackets. nnnnnn are fractional seconds (from zero to 6-digit precision).Īs you notice, this function has no brackets. It uses the ' YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss.nnnnnnn' format, where: The PostgreSQL function LOCALTIMESTAMP returns the current date and time (of the machine running that instance of PostgreSQL) as a timestamp value. Here’s the result of the query: 20:10:58.977914 Discussion: The CURRENTTIMESTAMP() function returns a TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE that represents the date and time at which the transaction started. We’ll use the function LOCALTIMESTAMP to get the current date and time without any time zone information: You’d like to get the current date and time in a PostgreSQL database. Kutcher found that playing Jobs was really scary because we have a daily reminder of him in our hands when we use our iPhones, iPads, Macs. 'May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.' - Romans 15:13. This season is always a great opportunity to turn to the Bible and find out what God tells us about love. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 'For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.' - Jeremiah 29:11. For some, this was done by purchasing flowers or a box of chocolates, and for others we’d rather ignore Valentine’s and have a normal day. This verse succinctly shares God’s extent of his love for us – he sacrificed his only Son! If this isn’t love, what is?Īnother Valentine’s Day has been and gone and as always, some of us showered our loved ones with gifts. Last but definitely not least, this Scripture is one of the most quoted verses from the Bible and that in itself says a lot. ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life’ Put him first in EVERYTHING that you do and watch how it all miraculously falls into place. Love him more than you love that chocolate bar or love getting paid. This Scripture is self-explanatory: love the Lord unconditionally. ‘Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ Imagine living in a world where everyone did everything out of love… how great would that be? We’d all be one big family and while many of us are longing for a world full of peace and love, let’s play our part in being a blessing to others. Don’t just buy gifts because you feel obliged to… buy them because you really want to. Picture it like this: God genuinely loves us, which is why we’re saved by His grace. The Bible says a lot about lovefalling in love with someone and God loving us, so here are 14 Bible verse quotes related to living in love. 2 Honor your father and motherwhich is the first commandment with a promise. Every single person on earth is blessed with the ability to love so we have no excuse to not take these factors into consideration when doing so. The characteristics listed are five key things we should represent in all relationships, not only romantic ones. The Bible speaks to what love is in its multiple forms and the role it plays in the unfolding mission of the church in the world. Lewis proposed there were four distinct kinds of lovefamilial, friendly, romantic, and unconditional (godly) love. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God and everyone who. The official music video was released on October 8, 2019, on YouTube. At the end of 2020, "Memories" ranked at number eight on the Hot 100 year-end chart. The song additionally peaked at number one on the Adult Top 40 chart, giving the band its fourteenth number one there, and at number one on the Adult Contemporary chart, where it remained for 20 weeks. This made Maroon 5 only the second band (the other is the Rolling Stones) to have a top-two hit on the Hot 100 in three different decades (2000s, 2010s and 2020s). "Memories" debuted at number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100, and later peaked at number two behind Post Malone's " Circles" to become the band's 10th top-five track and 15th top-ten track. Maeve McDermott of USA Today felt the track is "primed for end-of-summer nostalgia" and compared Levine's vocals to Sting. Similarly, El Hunt of NME called it a "sharp pop song" with "substance and heart". In a more enthusiastic review, Jon Dolan of Rolling Stone viewed the song as "a sweet, somber, genuinely felt ballad". Spin listed "Memories" as one of the worst songs of 2019, describing it as "a replica of a replica of a replica, sticky with the residue of borrowed emotion but hollow of anything resembling its own". Jason Friedman of Paste derided it for being as "viscerally annoying" as the band's 2016 single " Don't Wanna Know". Evening Standard reviewer David Smyth called the song's use of "Canon in D Major" a "ghastly poaching". Pitchfork 's Dani Blum found the guitar line "cloying" and the take on tragedy "pallid". In The Guardian, Graeme Virtue was critical of the track's "trite" lyrics, and dismissed it as "fun-free dreck". Rolling Stone India listed it among the worst songs of 2019. Critical reception Ĭritical response to "Memories" was polarising. The song is in the key of B major, and Levine's vocals span from D#4 to the high note of G#5. The song is based on the harmonic sequence and melody of " Canon in D" by Johann Pachelbel. "Memories" was written by Adam Levine, Stefan Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Michael Pollack, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Jon Bellion and Vincent Ford, and produced by Levine and the Monsters and the Strangerz. A 7-inch vinyl single was released on Record Store Day (October 24, 2020), which includes the song, the Dillon Francis remix and a 20-page photo & lyric booklet. Maroon 5 released four remixed versions of the song, featuring Dillon Francis on December 13, 2019, followed by Devault (December 16), Cut Copy (December 18), and a remix featuring American rappers Nipsey Hussle and YG (this remix is also included on the Jordi album, alongside the original version of "Memories"). "Memories" was released on September 20, 2019. and celebrate them too, which I think it's important". rather than fight about things, it's nice to have a common ground and all of us have had loss. In an interview of The Howard Stern Show, Levine said: "I needed this song", he continued: "In a world that's increasingly chaotic and crazy and angry in a lot of ways. We heard the skeleton of this song and thought it matched where we were at." We lost our longtime manager, Jordan Feldstein. You know, we experienced some loss in the last couple of years. According to guitarist, James Valentine: "It's a different kind of song for us…It's an important song for us. In other words, this song is for all of us." The song is based on the loss of the band's manager and Levine's friend, Jordan Feldstein who died in December 2017, from pulmonary embolism. The band's lead singer, Adam Levine, explained: "This song is for anyone who has ever experienced loss. It is Maroon 5's final single with bassist Mickey Madden, who announced his departure from the band in 2020, following his arrest for domestic violence. The single peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and at number one on the international music charts. Levine and the production team the Monsters and the Strangerz produced the song. The song was written by Maroon 5's lead singer Adam Levine, Stefan Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Michael Pollack, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Jon Bellion, and Vincent Ford. "Memories" is based on " Canon in D Major" by German composer Johann Pachelbel. It was listed as one of the worst songs of 2019 by Spin magazine. The song divided critics, with many panning its production but others calling it "sweet". Lyrically, the song pays homage to the memories of a loved one who has since passed. " Memories" is a song by American band Maroon 5, released through 222 and Interscope Records on September 20, 2019, as the lead single from the band's seventh studio album Jordi.
